So, those of you who are my friend over on the MOST understand that this is a. because I heart M.O. and b. because it's an order and LJ is a great outlet like that (and I'm sure I'll see similar from you guys :D)

Anyway, there's this great band called Manchester Orchestra from Georgia that's touring this summer with another band called Colour Revolt. It's their first headlining tour and they're such an amazing band. If you haven't heard them, your going to need to head over to their myspace or their website and check them out.

You know how we all have music for special purposes? Like there's that one band we listen to in order to make us feel infinite, that other band that you listen to when you're reading, that other band to make a bad day good and that other band you jam to in the car? Well, Manchester Orchestra encompasses all of those aspects for me. I haven't found a time where they're not good to listen to and that's pretty hard to say because I'm a musical elitist and all.

So with that, here's summer tour information and I expect you all to at least give them a chance. Hey, tickets are cheap. Me and my debt-student-loan-fucked-up-the-ass-negative-balance-bank-account can afford eight dollar's.

Happy pills from the broken foot and boredom has gotten to me. Unimpressive music survey (that is, by definition, lame) follows:

What was the last concert you attended?
The Snake The Cross The Crown, Manchester Orchestra, Piebald, & mewithoutyou. As Heather and I were discussing, that was one of the solidest line-ups in a rather long time.

How many people were there?
A room full.

What bands have you seen in concert the most, and how many times?
Brand New--6 times.

Do you have any set lists? From what bands?
I have a set list from the last two times that I saw Brand New (Bowery Ballroom & Gramercy Theater). Though I do think I risked losing my dignity in order to obtain the latter of those two, it's nice to be able to say 'yeah, that piece of paper over there is from the best show I've ever been to.'

Are there any CDs in close proximity to you? Which ones?
Elliot Smith's 'New Moon,' Jesus Lizard 'Bang' and 'Goat,' and a bunch more. Those are just the few on my desk within jewel cases (a rare phenomenon for my record collection, I must say).

What band are you in the mood to see live right this second?
Would anyone be amazed if I said Brand New? However, more accurately, I've been listening to Modest Mouse on repeat and really don't want to wait to see them.

Have you ever been on a tour bus?
No.

Have you ever partied with a band?
Yes.

How many states/provinces have you been to concerts in?
3 states...I think it's only three.

Oh, there are so many.

Yes, I've got friends.

Last band person that you got a picture with?
Oh I don't remember. It's rather possible I haven't gotten a picture with a band member, nor taken one, since WAY back when I took a photo of Heather with Andrew of SoCo/JM.

Do you consider yourself a groupie?
Not really. I'm not interested in sleeping with people solely because they're capable of playing music. Anyone can do that; it really doesn't make a person inordinately special.

If you were to name a boy and a girl after any band....what would it be?
I don't think I could do that because very few bands I know lend themselves to that type of thing. Though, I could probably name a child after band member (though, it would be because I liked the name...I mean, I'm rather fond of the names Andrew, Michael, Jesse, and Brandon. Yet, I can't think of many bands that don't have at least a single one of those names in them).

How old were you when you went to your first concert?
Oh to be 14 again.

RADIOHEAD.

Of course, I own little else. (Repping the Manch. Orc. shirt)

Do you ever do anything crazy at shows?
Well, if I recall right, I do believe I offered a combination of sex, my friend, money, or anything else imaginable for a set list. Other than that, just the usual.

What are your favorite venues to go to shows at?
I love Bowery Ballroom. Knitting isn't bad either. Maxwell's is fun too. Loved Continental best before they closed it though. Maybe even CBGB's.

What band do you have the most performance pictures of?
That I have personally taken...the Offspring.

Would you ever get a tattoo representing a band?
Perhaps. When I was younger, I always thought about getting the Offspring symbol (which I'm now glad I didn't) but now I don't know. I feel anxious about the idea of getting something that permanent for a band when in a year they'll probably put out an album I hate.

How many concerts do you average a year?
10-20 or so. This year has been a rather short amount due to the fact that Reading isn't the saddest excuse for a city ever.

Upcoming shows?
As Tall As Lions; Kevin Devine/Jesse Lacey tour in July. Warped Tour (because we're still young at heart, apparently...well, Bayside is playing). Perhaps Straylight.

Well, currently I spend money on concert tickets, CD's, books, etc. So honestly, I'd probably buy a new laptop, a better electric guitar and an a/e guitar, my digital camera, all the concert tickets and CD's I want and then that would be it.

I'd buy more kittens.
